There are 2 types of roulette, American and French (aka European roulette) The Roulette wheels in Europe are numbered 1-36, and have a green zero section. The American roulette is divided in to 38 slots, numbered 1 through 36, plus 0 and 00. Roulette players can bet on one, two, three, four or six numbers; or they can choose to bet red or black; high or low; odd or even. Before you get confused, standard American roulette rules have the table use different chips than other table games at the same casino. Each Player has a different colored set of non-value Roulette chips, determined by his/her purchase. The wheel determines the outcome of a roulette game. The roulette dealer will exchange your chips for regular chips when you are done playing. If the dreaded 00 is spun, the House keeps all the bets. When you get your roulette chips they will not be marked with a denomination, you choose it, and all of the chips will reflect that worth - the dealer keeps track of that by associating the amount and color with a 'lammer'. Roulette does not move at a quick pace, it is for a more relaxed crowd than you are likely to find at the craps table. Once the roulette ball has found its slot, the dealer will call out the winning number and place a marker on that number's spot on the layout. " You may place roulette bets on the spin until the Dealer announces "No more bets". You should remember to exchange the colored non-value Roulette chips for valued gaming chips prior to leaving a particular Roulette table. When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier.
