Roulette is one of the oldest and most popular games played in modern casinos. The United States adopted their own version of roulette, but the French version is still played time to time in Las Vegas. The Roulette wheels in America have a green zero and double zero, giving the American casinos the twice house edge. Most casinos have 00 on their roulette wheels to increase the odds to their advantage (American Roulette) On both wheels, you may think that there is no rhyme or reason as to how the numbers are arranged, but there is; the numbers are arranged this way so that the odds of landing on high, odd, low or even numbers are evenly distributed. Every roulette player has different colored chips for easier identifying. Roulette chips have no value at other tables. In American roulette the addition of the 00 section greatly increases the odds in favor of the house. Winning bets are determined by the numbered slot in which the ball comes to rest. Numbers 1-18 are considered the lows numbers, 19-36 are the highs. After the roulette wheel stops the dealer will then mark the winning number on the betting area and the bets are paid accordingly. After all payoffs have been made, the Dealer will announce "Place your bets. " You may place roulette bets on the spin until the Dealer announces "No more bets". When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier.
