The Roulette wheel layout used in Europe and in America generally not the same. The United States adopted their own version of roulette, but the French version is still played time to time in Las Vegas. The American roulette is divided in to 38 slots, numbered 1 through 36, plus 0 and 00. Roulette players often choose the bets they like to make and stick with them for a series of spins. If you play black-red, odd/even or high-low, you must place the roulette table minimum for each and every bet. Every roulette player has different colored chips for easier identifying. The roulette chips are worthless at the other tables in the same casino, so do not bother trying to stack them under your blackjack chips or anything foolish like that. The dealer spins a small ball in the opposite direction of the spinning roulette wheel. When the roulette ball comes to rest in one of the slots, the dealer will call out the winning number and settle all bets. The roulette ball falls into one of the wheel's numbered compartments which determines the winning number. Roulette is a banking game: all bets are placed against the house. When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier.
