Roulette was developed around the turn of the century and is one of the most popular gambling games in the world. Roulette is played on a table featuring a betting area and the roulette wheel. In roulette game the bank pays or collects from each bettor. Roulette players can bet on one, two, three, four or six numbers; or they can choose to bet red or black; high or low; odd or even. Before you get confused, standard American roulette rules have the table use different chips than other table games at the same casino. Each Player has a different colored set of non-value Roulette chips, determined by his/her purchase. The game of roulette starts after the players have made most of their bets by placing them on the numbered layout. The roulette dealer will exchange your chips for regular chips when you are done playing. When the roulette ball comes to rest in one of the slots, the dealer will call out the winning number and settle all bets. When you get your roulette chips they will not be marked with a denomination, you choose it, and all of the chips will reflect that worth - the dealer keeps track of that by associating the amount and color with a 'lammer'. Roulette is a banking game: all bets are placed against the house. Once the roulette ball has found its slot, the dealer will call out the winning number and place a marker on that number's spot on the layout. Wait til the dealer says "place your bets" before putting any roulette chips down for the next round. When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier.
