There are 2 types of roulette, American and French (aka European roulette) The outcome of a game of Roulette is determined by where the ball stops on the Roulette wheel. Roulette players often choose the bets they like to make and stick with them for a series of spins. The ball stops in one of the numbered pockets of the Roulette wheel. In a casino, the person who spins the wheel is called a croupier. The roulette chips are worthless at the other tables in the same casino, so do not bother trying to stack them under your blackjack chips or anything foolish like that. The dealer spins the roulette wheel in one direction and the small ball in the opposite one. Roulette is not as popular in United States casinos as it is in Europe. Numbers 1-18 are considered the lows numbers, 19-36 are the highs. After the roulette wheel stops the dealer will then mark the winning number on the betting area and the bets are paid accordingly. After all payoffs have been made, the Dealer will announce "Place your bets. " You may place roulette bets on the spin until the Dealer announces "No more bets". When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier.
