. The Roulette wheels in Europe are numbered 1-36, and have a green zero section. The American roulette is divided in to 38 slots,
numbered 1 through 36, plus 0 and 00. Most casinos have 00 on their roulette wheels to increase the odds to their advantage (American Roulette) The zero and double zero numbers are in green and on opposite sides of the wheel, the colors
and odd/even numbers alternate, and the numbers themselves are randomly distributed. The marked area of roulette is called the game layout, and you may place bets on any particular number, any 4 adjacent numbers, a column or a dozen
bet. The dealer spins a small ball in the opposite direction of the spinning roulette wheel. The ball slows and eventually stops in one of the numbered pockets in the Roulette
wheel. Numbers 1-18 are considered the
lows numbers, 19-36 are the highs. Unlike other casino games, roulette rounds go by quickly - just a spin of the wheel and the game is over. After all payoffs have been made, the Dealer will announce "Place your bets. Wait til the
dealer says "place your bets" before putting any roulette chips down for the next round.
When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier. |
