Roulette is one of the oldest and most popular games played in modern casinos. It is played in virtually every gambling house in North and South America and in Europe, where it is even more popular. The standard American casino roulette wheel contains two green slots: 0 and 00 (many European wheels eliminate the 00, which creates more favorable odds for players) Roulette players often choose the bets they like to make and stick with them for a series of spins. The ball stops in one of the numbered pockets of the Roulette wheel. Each roulette player is assigned different color of chip, allowing the dealer differentiate bets and match them to the right players. American wheels have two green sections marked 00. After all bets are placed, the roulette Dealer spins the wheel in one direction and the ball in the opposite direction. The ball slows and eventually stops in one of the numbered pockets in the Roulette wheel. The winning roulette number is marked by the Dealer. Roulette is a banking game: all bets are placed against the house. Once the roulette ball has found its slot, the dealer will call out the winning number and place a marker on that number's spot on the layout. You should remember to exchange the colored non-value Roulette chips for valued gaming chips prior to leaving a particular Roulette table. When you finish beating the house at roulette, you will have to ask the dealer to "color out" for you, the dealer will then take your chips and give you casino checks which you may then use on other games or cash out at the cashier.
